A few years ago, I made my first sculpture. The moment I discovered something I didn't even know I was looking for. I wanted to recreate that piece on a larger scale, both to honor where I started and to see how much I've grown since then.

The curves in this piece have always captivated me. They wrap around the canvas like they're embracing it, holding it close. There's something about that gentle movement that feels like patience itself taking shape.

This artwork is about transformation - the kind that doesn't happen overnight. The gradient blend of pink, blue, and purple reminds me of the sunsets I used to watch during those early days of sculpting. Back then, I was in a darker place, but every day brought a little more light into my life.

I built this piece layer by layer, using a palette knife to create texture you can actually feel. Each layer had to dry completely before I could add the next one - a process that took several weeks. I couldn't rush it, and honestly, I didn't want to. That slow build-up mirrors something important: growth and healing take time.

Creating this felt like reading an old journal, taking me back to when art was my comfort and my guide. It reminds me there's beauty in taking things slow, in moving through life's journey one mindful step at a time.

I hope when you look at this piece, you can feel that sense of patience. Maybe it'll connect with your own journey toward becoming who you're meant to be.
