It Was Always About You

This piece is all about life and how we find our way through it. I hand-sculpted every curve and dip, letting the drywall mud show those inevitable ups and downs we all experience.

Life isn't perfect or balanced—let's be honest about that. But here's what I've learned: it's not really about what happens to you. It's about how you see it, where you're standing when it hits, and the choices you make in response. Because at the end of the day, it was always about you, your perspective, your resilience, your inner compass.

The whole piece flows organically because that's exactly how life comes at us, never in straight lines, always from angles we didn't see coming. Sometimes it catches us completely off guard, sometimes it leads us somewhere we never imagined we'd go. Just like water slowly carves through rock, these experiences shape who we become, one moment at a time.

I wanted the colors to shift as you move around it, pastel pink flowing into gold, then purple, with hints of aqua blue at the base. It's all about perspective, right? The same sculpture looks completely different depending on where you stand and how the light hits it. The shadows and highlights change constantly, just like how our view of life shifts based on what we're going through.

What I believe, and what this piece represents, is that there's always a guiding light inside us. We have to be willing to look for it, especially when everything feels dark or confusing.
