Regiena is a self-taught sculptural artist known for ethereal series of three-dimensional artwork with soft color-shifting hues. Born in the Philippines, currently based in Texas. With an ever-evolving creative practice, Regiena also embraces artistic exploration beyond her comfort zone, inviting audiences to witness the raw and transformative process behind each piece.
Her work has resonated with collectors across the world, finding homes in different states across North America, as well as in Europe, New Zealand, and Asia. Each piece carries a part of their story, and knowing that their art connects with people globally is a humbling and deeply fulfilling aspect of her journey.
The Ethereal Series
My distinctive approach to glowing finishes was born from studying sculptures in museums, where I became fascinated by how light could animate static forms. But it was in nature, watching glimmers of light dance across water, seeing how wind creates patterns that shift and flow, that I understood how to capture what I call "the state of being moved." This is more than visual beauty; it's that visceral moment when something shifts inside us, when we feel the urge to reach out and connect.
The Ethereal Series bridges natural forms and contemporary sculpture through what I've come to recognize as Glowing Organic Minimalism. These pieces feel like captured phenomena—water, wind, light itself, frozen in time yet somehow still in motion. Through masterful surface treatment and sophisticated color transitions, each sculpture creates an ethereal quality that is both calming and dynamic.
But beneath the technical innovation lies something deeper. My work expresses profoundly personal stories centered around transformation, vulnerability, and the rediscovery of self-worth. Each piece carries the weight of experience, the beauty of becoming, the courage required to be seen. The iridescent surfaces that catch and reflect light mirror our own capacity for change—how we can emerge from difficult challenges not just intact, but radiant and full of inner light.
In creating sculptures that feel both timeless and utterly modern, I'm exploring how contemporary art can hold space for our most essential human experiences: the desire to transform, the courage to be vulnerable, and the ongoing journey of discovering our own worth.
