Inspiration & Concept
This piece was inspired by a close friend who reminded me of myself at a certain point in my life. She had everything falling into place of joy, success, love yet there was hesitation, like she wasn’t sure if she was allowed to fully embrace it. I recognized that feeling immediately because I had once lived it. The fear of taking up space, of being too happy, of shining too brightly. This sculpture was born from that realization and the deep desire to capture that pivotal moment of stepping into self-worth.
Symbolism & Meaning
“You Deserve It All” represents the internal battle between doubt and self-acceptance. The posture and form express both hesitation and the quiet strength that emerges when we decide to silence the voices that tell us we are unworthy. Every delicate curve and gesture embodies the struggle to let go of guilt and claim the happiness that has always been ours. This sculpture is a reminder to take up space, to step forward boldly, and to embrace joy without apology.
How I Made It
Every part of this sculpture was made with intention, from the gentle foms that evoke vulnerability to the textures that reflect transformation. I used mica powder to enhance the ethereal quality, layering depth and movement to reflect the emotional weight of the moment. Each stage from the first mold, layering, sanding, painting to the final form was an exploration of what it means to let go, trust, and allow oneself to be fully seen.
The Heart Behind It
I created this sculpture for those who have ever questioned whether they are allowed to be happy. If you have ever dimmed your light for the comfort of others or hesitated to embrace the joy right in front of you, this piece is for you. You are worthy, always have been, and always will be. My hope is that every time you look at this piece, it reminds you to step fully into your joy without hesitation, without guilt, and without apology.
